Infant ProgramThe infant program serves children from six weeks to 18 months. The program is designed to duplicate the loving care and gentle stimulation that an infant needs to grow and develop to his or her full potential. Flexible scheduling allows each child to eat, sleep, or play according to his or her own natural timetable.
Our nursery environment is beautifully enhanced with a home-like feel in soft, muted colors with lots of natural sunlight. The room is equipped to provide freedom of movement and gentle stimulation. All equipment and Montessori materials are of various textures to enhance the daycare learning experience. The children work on their various stages of development throughout the day within the carefully prepared environment. When the weather is appropriate, they are taken outside for fresh air and to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
The Montessori caregiver interacts with individual children to ensure that a strong emotional bond exists and to stimulate the development of speech for each child. Each child’s “primary care giver” monitors the child’s schedules, accomplishments, tendencies and/or concerns which are communicated to the parents on a daily basis. We firmly believe in the need for open and thorough communication between the daycare, caregiver, and the home.
Nido is Italian for “nest.” Our stimulating, safe and nurturing full-day Montessori infant environment is guided by specifically trained infancy professionals.

Our infant programs have a maximum of 16 infants and a ratio of 1:3. This is lower than the mandated 1:4 DHHS ratio in Nebraska. We realize that a 1:3 ratio is better for your child because it allows for more one on one attention. While we strive to maintain the 1:3 ratio throughout our nursery all day, there are times when we need to provide a 1:4 ratio to cover breaks for our team members. We have one lead teacher in each of our infant classrooms with four assistant teachers. Your child will interact with all of our team members throughout the day. However, most of the communication to parents will come from our lead teacher.
We currently have three Infant House locations to best serve you.
Our Child's world location is in Aksarben. The House of Montessori Infant Room is in our downtown/midtown Omaha location (right behind the Med Center) and finally our Pacific street Infant House is conveniently located off 128th and Pacific Street.
We look forward to partnering with you to offer your little one the best Montessori experience!
