
Since 1982 Kathy has been active in Montessori education in Omaha as a teacher and administrator both in public and private Montessori schools. In addition to her graduate and post-graduate academic degrees (B.A., B.S.N., and M. Div.), she has earned Montessori teacher certifications at multiple levels. These include Infant-Toddler (0-3) and Primary (3-6) from Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institutein Omaha, NE, and Elementary I & II (6-12) from The Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies in Silver Springs, MD. Kathy is also an instructor for the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute which is AMS and MACTE certified.
Maureen, a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, holds a B.S. in Business with an Accounting degree. She joined Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. as its Controller after relocating back to Omaha from North Carolina. Maureen has spent the majority of her career working for professional service firms and most recently as Director of Finance for an advertising /public relations firm.
Carolyn joined Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. this year as an Admission’s Coordinator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State and a master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin. She has been a classroom and resource teacher, as well as, a consultant to teachers from kindergarten through high school.
Miss Pam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Stephens’s College in Columbia, Missouri. She received her Montessori Primary (2 ½-6 years) teaching certificate from Montessori Center Internationale and is currently working on her Masters degree in Education. For several years previously, she directed a private Primary and Elementary Montessori school in Denver.
Ms. Sarah is the Upper Elementary Directress at Kopecky Montessori. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction. Sarah is currently working on a M.F.A in Writing. She is Montessori certified in Elementary (6-12) from the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute. Sarah has been teaching for 12 years. This is her second year at Kopecky Elementary School.
Ms. Keri received her B.A. in French and Global Studies from Nebraska Wesleyan. She taught High School French in Iowa for a year before moving to France to teach English at a school in Paris. She worked for several years in Paris before deciding to pursue her Montessori teacher training in Italy. After completing her Elementary 6-9 certification, Keri moved back to the states and taught Montessori in Connecticut for a couple of years before moving back to the Midwest with her family.
Ms. Jackie, the AMS certified Toddler Directress for 26 years at Montessori Child’s World, is Montessori certified in Infant/Toddler (0-3 years). Jackie is a teacher trainer in the Infant/Toddler (0-3 years) program at the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute.
Ms. Teri, the AMS certified Primary Directress for 11 years at Montessori Child’s World, has a B.S. in Special Education and is Montessori certified in Primary (2 ½ -6 years). Teri is a teacher trainer in the Primary (2 ½ -6) program at the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute.
Ms. Jeanette, an Infant Directress at the House of Montessori for over 20 years, is AMS certified in Infant/Toddler (0-3 years). She received her Montessori training from the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute.
Ms. Amanda is AMS Montessori certified for 0-6 years and is the Infant Directress at the House of Montessori. She has an Early Childhood Education degree with an emphasis in Montessori. Amanda has worked for Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. for over seven years.
Ms. Jeannie is a certified AMS Toddler (0-3 years) Directress at the House of Montessori. Jeannie has been with Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. for over 25 years. Her goal is to continue her education at Bellevue University.
Miss Mikie is the Toddler Directress at Montessori Children’s Village. She has been employed with Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. for over seven years and is completing her training this year through the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute.
Mr. Matt is an AMS certified primary (2 ½-6 years) Director at Montessori Children’s Village. Matt graduated with an English degree from the University of St. Thomas. He has worked as a technical writer and computer programmer prior to working at Montessori Educational Centers, Inc.
Ms. Peg is an AMS certified Primary (2 ½-6 years) Directress at Montessori Children’s Village. Peg received her undergraduate degree from Creighton University. She first worked in a child/adolescent community based program for mentally challenged children, then worked in multi-disciplinary pilot programs for developmentally delayed preschoolers funded by federal grants at UNMC's Meyer's Children's Rehabilitation Institute. Peg received her training and Montessori certificate from Great Plains Montessori Teacher Training Program at Concordia University. After her internship she remained at Montessori Educational Center for about 5 years. Peg then owned and operated a Montessori school for the next 14 years. In 1996 she was pleased to return to Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. and its Montessori community of educators to continue 36 years of pre-school education.
Ms. Rakhee began her Early Childhood journey from Mumbai University India. After completing her Bachelors in Early Child Care Education, she became Montessori certified (2 ½-6 years) in Los Angeles and became a Lead Directress at San Marino Montessori School for 4 years. After relocating to Omaha, she became the Primary Directress at the House of Montessori.
Ms. Tammy, an AMS certified Toddler (0-3 years) Directress at Montessori Children’s House, became certified in the Infant/Toddler program through the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute over 20 years ago. She holds a BA degree in Elementary Education from the University of Sioux Falls, a MS degree in Elementary Education through the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has completed her early childhood endorsement.
Miss Desiree is a certified AMS Primary (2 ½-6 years) Directress at Montessori Children’s House. Desiree has her Early Childhood associates degree from College of Saint Mary. For the past 27 years she has worked for Montessori Educational Centers, Inc.
Ms. Donna, an AMS certified Primary (2 ½-6 years) Directress at Montessori Children’s House, has helped educate children enrolled with Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. for over 40 years.
Ms. Amy Jane has worked various schedules with Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. for the last seven years while attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. She is completing the Infant/Toddler training this year through the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute.
Ms. Tracy is the AMS certified Toddler (0-3 years) Directress at West Maple Montessori. Tracy received her Infant/Toddler Montessori certification from the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute. She has worked in early child care for over 17 years and has been with Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. for the past seven years.
Ms. Yvette grew up in Texas and attended Texas Women's University. She studied Communication Science and Disorders with a concentration in Deaf Education. Yvette attended the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies. She worked 2 years in Denver and after a few more travels ended up in Nebraska 5 years ago. This will be her 4th year at West Maple Montessori.
Ms. Joan is an AMS certified Primary (2 ½-6 years) Directress at West Maple Montessori. She received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from College of Saint Mary and her Montessori certification from the Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute. Joan has worked for Montessori Educational Centers, Inc. for over 30 years.
